Genetic toxicology

CIT’s genetic toxicology department offers complete services in order to fulfil regulatory requirement or obtain screening data. Studies are designed according to international guidelines, including OECD, EC, OPPTS, ICH or Japanese guidelines. 

In a dedicated building, the laboratory offers state-of-the-art and validated equipments, including specific validated software.

In-vitro tests

Bacterial reverse mutation, Ames test

Salmonella typhimurium and, or Escherichia coli Rat and/or hamster S9 (Prival & Mitchell method)

Mammalian cell gene mutation

Mouse Lymphoma tk+/- cells

Mammalian chromosome aberration Human lymphocytes and, or L5178Y mouse lymphoma cells, by:
- metaphase analysis,
or
- micronucleus test
In-vivo tests

Micronucleus test

Bone marrow cells or peripheral blood cells of mice or rats
Chromosomal aberration Metaphase analysis on bone marrow cells of mice or rats

The micronucleus test can be included in toxicology studies (28-day study for example).
