General toxicology

Our extended experience allows our staff to conduct studies of standard up to very specific adapted designs (adapted to the product tested and specific national regulatory requirements if needed).

Standard studies
________________________________________________________________
Duration:

  • Acute
  • DRF up to chronic toxicology studies
________________________________________________________________
Species:
All rodent and non-rodent species covered by international guidelines. Historical data for different strains of rodents (for toxicity and carcinogenicity studies).

________________________________________________________________
Routes of administration:
  • Oral: gavage, capsules, dietary admixtures, drinking water
  • Parenteral:
    - Intravenous : bolus, slow injection, continuous infusion, cycles (vascular acces port)
    - Others : subcutaneous, intradermal, intramuscular, intraperitoneal

  • Dermal: open, semi-occluded and occluded dressing, patches and other devices, with or without rinsing, with or without collar. Each study is adapted to the specificity of the product
  • Ocular: including intra-vitreous
  • Intra-nasal
  • Inhalation: in non-rodents
  • Intra-vaginal
  • Other routes: we have experience in a number of very specific routes of administrations in different species. Please contact us for any specific request.

Specialty services

_______________________________________________________________

We offer a range of possible options that can be included in routine toxicology studies or in tailored studies, in order to meet specific needs.
  • Immunotoxicology: inhibition of humoral response, analytical flow cytometry (FACS) for immunophenotyping
  • Neurotoxicology: FOB, functional tests including learning and memory (multiple T maze : 3T or 9T (Cincinnati water maze) and Moris water maze (circular pool of water, no T) for rodents, specific learning tests for non-rodents)
  • Full range of specific clinical chemistry parameters (bone metabolism, lipids…) and hormonal assays (including functionnal assays)
  • Studies on sexually mature animals with parameters of male or female reproductive functions
  • Juvenile studies
  • External telemetry
  • Large range of investigational parameters for bone: X-ray, DXA, pQCT, microCT, clinical chemistry, histomorphometry
  • Genomics: very extended number of tissues can be collected and analyzed (PCR, Affymetrix micro-chips)
  • Others: on the basis of the experience of our Phamacology Department, other specific parameters can be included particularly in non-rodents species.
